Terms of Use

EMPRISE, last updated October 7, 2026

This English version is a translation, provided for convenience. The French version is the reference: in case of any discrepancy between the two, the French version prevails.

These terms govern the use of EMPRISE, a tactical card game published by Alexandre Esnard, an individual, who can be reached at contact@empriselejeu.fr. By playing EMPRISE, you accept these terms.

1. The service

EMPRISE is a tactical card game that can be played alone against an artificial intelligence, or online against other players. It is free; the iPhone app offers optional purchases. The publisher strives to keep it available, without being able to guarantee that it is available at all times: interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or technical reasons.

2. Your account

An anonymous account is created automatically the first time you open the game. You choose a username. You are responsible for the use made of your account from your device.

Since the account is tied to your browser and your device, clearing your browser data may cause you to permanently lose access to your progress. The publisher cannot restore an account lost in these circumstances.

3. Rules of conduct

By using EMPRISE, you agree not to:

A reporting feature is available in the game. Any breach may lead to the suspension or deletion of the account concerned, without notice or compensation.

4. In-game currencies and cosmetic items

Coins and gems are in-game currencies with no monetary value. They cannot be exchanged, resold or converted into real money. They exist only in EMPRISE.

Cosmetic items (boards, card backs, banners, medallions) never change the rules of the game or the chances of winning. EMPRISE has no random loot boxes, no energy system and no competitive advantage for sale.

The publisher reserves the right to change the game's balance, the rewards, the catalog on offer and the rotation of the Shop. Items a player has already obtained remain theirs.

In the iPhone app, gems and the Campaign's Oath can be bought with real money. These purchases are paid to Apple and are subject to the App Store terms, including for refunds. A purchase is credited on the device that made it. To get it back on another device, save your progress with a Google or Apple account: gems and the Oath are consumable, and the App Store cannot restore them.

5. Intellectual property

All the elements that make up EMPRISE (name, world, rules, texts, illustrations, interface, code) are protected and remain the property of the publisher. You have a personal, non-exclusive right to use the game within the framework of these terms. Any unauthorized reproduction, distribution or exploitation is prohibited.

The username you choose remains your responsibility: you guarantee that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

6. Liability

EMPRISE is provided as is. The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of the game or from the inability to use it, nor for any loss of progress caused by clearing the data of your browser or your device.

Online games depend on your connection: a disconnection may cause you to lose a game in progress and what was at stake in it, according to the rules of the mode concerned.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from the game's settings screen, under “My account”. Deletion is permanent: profile, username, friend code, friends list, progress and cosmetic items are erased, and cannot be restored.

The publisher may also delete an account in the event of a serious breach of these terms.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be changed, in particular to keep pace with the game as it evolves. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. Any substantial change will be announced in the game; continuing to use the game constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. Failing that, the French courts will have jurisdiction. In accordance with the regulations, you may refer the matter to a consumer mediator free of charge.

10. Contact

For any question about these terms or how the game works: contact@empriselejeu.fr.

How your personal data is processed is described in the privacy policy.
